Carbon Sciences Names New CEO

   
Christopher S. Kelly to lead the Company’s efforts to acquire profitable IT services providers

Santa Barbara, CA - March 8, 2016 - Carbon Sciences, Inc. (CABN), focused on developing breakthrough technologies based on graphene, the new miracle material, today announced that Christopher S. Kelly has joined the Company as its new CEO. Mr. Kelly’s primary focus will be on the Company’s growth-by-acquisition strategy to extend its presence in the $3.8 trillion worldwide information technology (IT) market.

Mr. Kelly formerly served as Chief Operating Officer of Esperer Holdings/Butler America, a private equity acquisition and management company, where he managed all aspects of the purchase and transition of numerous private equity acquisitions in a broad variety of industries. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

We are very excited to have Christopher serve in this capacity,” said Bill Beifuss, the Company’s president. “Our plan is to grow by acquiring profitable IT services providers, which in the future may also provide a channel of distribution for our graphene-based networking device technology currently in early research and development. Christopher brings the necessary skills and experience to put us solidly in the IT services business.”

Mr. Kelly commented, “The IT market represents an enormous opportunity for Carbon Sciences. We are developing a very interesting new technology. As with all technology development projects, this one may take some time. However, we can immediately begin to acquire profitable IT services providers, which could dramatically change the Company’s financial outlook. The IT services sector alone accounts for approximately $1 trillion of the total $3.8 trillion total worldwide IT market. Also, there is no shortage of acquisition targets.”

Carbon Sciences will continue to work with the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) to develop a new graphene-based optical modulator, a critical fiber optics component needed to help unclog the existing bottlenecks and enable ultrafast communication in data centers for Cloud computing.

UCSB is considered to be a global leader in bioengineering, chemical and computational engineering, materials science, nanotechnology and physics. UCSB boasts five Nobel Laureates (four in sciences and engineering) and one winner of the prestigious Millennium Technology Prize. The 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities ranked UCSB Engineering/Technology and Computer Science as #7 in the world.
